The Edge of a Form

DSCN0869I think Henri was talking about the fact that when we look at the edge of a form, we don’t see a line. We see a head (or whatever) and the background behind it. The curved form of the head is the boundary of the form(s) behind. So there a line is nowhere, and yet is, when one form is observed against another.
